DOOM GONG (Louisville, KY)

Formed in 2022 by seven music school nerds in Louisville, Kentucky, DOOM GONG have spent three years building one of the most distinct sounds in the international psych scene. They call it Denim Psych - a genre of their own invention that pulls from psychedelic rock, jazz fusion, prog rock, bedroom pop, lo-fi, and contemporary classical music, stitched together with blood, sweat, and a lot of denim. Three rock opera-esque LPs in three years, a live album, festival appearances at Treefort, Sled Island, Levitation, and Swampfest, and shared stages with Amyl and the Sniffers, The Black Angels, BADBADNOTGOOD, Allah Las, and King Buffalo among many others. They are currently on a European and UK tour and headed this way. The Gong rings on.

Johnny Manchild & The Poor Bastards (Oklahoma City, OK)

"There's a mad genius living in Oklahoma City who possesses the manic drive of a classical composer." Since 2016, Johnny Manchild has led an ever-evolving lineup in pursuit of conveying the noise in his head - a noise that gets louder every day and never sounds quite the same twice. Over the last decade he has amassed over 400,000 listeners, collaborated with Adrian Young of No Doubt and Todd Foreman of Sublime, performed alongside the Dresden Dolls, and independently assembled a 48-show six-week house show tour for over 3,000 attendees. Five albums deep with a new self-produced record Side Effects slated for 2026, he shows no signs of slowing down.

Friend of a Friend

Formed in the summer of 2020, Friend of a Friend have spent the years since touring relentlessly through Europe and North America, releasing three records in three years, and landing features in SPIN Magazine and Rolling Stone, who named them an artist to watch. Wonderland Magazine called them an indie rock band taking the scene by storm. The resume speaks for itself.

Karma and the Killjoys

Piano-rock that earns the name. Loud, key-smashing chords dueling with gritty electric guitar, powerful raw female voices, and a thick chorus of harmonies that somehow holds it all together. Karma and the Killjoys push the bounds of what piano-rock can mean with every song, both embracing and defying the genre.

DEAD HEAT
"Process of Elimination", Dead Heat's first album for Metal Blade, sees the Oxnard, California-based band reaching a sonic and lyrical apex across 11 heavy tracks, produced by the band with Paul Fig (Deftones, Trivium, Jerry Cantrell). "Perpetual Punishment" opens the record with gentle guitar before kicking into aggro/hardcore mode. "We chose this song to start Process… because when it hits, it's hard, and has a great flow," states singer Chris Ramos. "Lyrically it's about not wasting your time in life because tomorrow simply isn't promised. It's a key theme I always try to portray in lyrical form, or even in random stage banter. I feel like it's what's keeps me going on every day."

"Process of Elimination" finds Dead Heat at the top of their powers. "Dead Heat has changed in so many ways since the start of this band, but we're the same beast, just a different animal. We have the same musical aspects but with different attitude towards the outcome which makes all the difference," concludes Ramos. "We unconsciously changed from a force on a roll into a well-oiled machine."

One of Canada's most celebrated pop punk exports, Chief State have spent nearly a decade building a devoted global fanbase with their rain-drenched, emotionally honest anthems. Praised by Alternative Press as one of the pop punk bands proving the genre is very much alive, the band has toured extensively across North America, released multiple acclaimed records including their 2026 sophomore LP Keep Your Friends Closer, and built a reputation as one of the most energetic live acts in the country. Founded in Doesburg, Holland in 1980, Neuroot are among the most revered names in European hardcore punk history. Across four decades they have toured Asia, Australia, the US, and beyond, and their most recent album False Profit dropped in 2024. If Neuroot are coming to your city, you go.

Fronted by South Sudanese-Ugandan singer-songwriter Brian Baroda, Mivule takes its name from an East African teak tree that served as a gathering place for villagers to seek justice and resolve conflict. The band carries that same spirit of unity and peace into deep, groove-based sets built to move a room.

Brehdren (Vancouver, BC)

Formed in East Vancouver in 2010, Brehdren is an upbeat, theatrical ska and reggae outfit with four studio albums and hundreds of shows behind them, including sold-out runs at the Wise Hall and a stage shared with NYC ska legends The Slackers. Equal parts irreverent and tight, Brehdren is a band built to be seen live.

Phonosonics (Victoria, BC)
